Today we went into Stuttgart to watch a soccer game! It was VfB Stuttgart verses Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg was first to score in the game, but Stuttgart scored two goals in the first half to make up for it. In the second half Stuttgart managed to score another goal, ending the game with 3-1 Stuttgart's way. It would be very demoralizing for Wolfsburg playing at Stuttgart. Because it was a home game for Stuttgart, almost everyone in the crowd was cheering for Stuttgart. When Stuttgart scored a goal, the whole stadium would jump up cheering. When Wolfsburg scored a goal there was only some clapping. There was also a constant chant from the spectators behind the goals with their fan chants. In total there was over 47,000 people at the stadium. I knew that sport attracted tens of thousands of people, but actually being there in person makes it so much more real than just some numbers on a page. If there were on average 2 people per car, and there were lots of people on buses, there there may have been 20,000 cars.....
Very cool :-)
