Rhine Falls in Switzerland!

Today we went for a nice Sunday drive.....to Switzerland. We went to the Rhine Falls which are these huge water falls in the middle of the Rhine River. I am dubbing them as the Niagara Falls of Europe (even though its not quiet that fast)! They were really cool and loud with 250,000 litres of water going over every second. The flow is much slower in Winter with it being about 600,000 litres per second in Summer. They are 150 metres wide, 23 metres tall and the pool at the bottom is 13 metres deep. It would have been better if the weather was a bit better. It wasn't too cold, it was just that it was very grey and foggy and it was hard to see the other side of the river. It was funny that in just in an hour an a halfs drive, we were in Switzerland. Granted, it was only the northern tip, but nonetheless it is still Switzerland. We went through the border check (they didn't look at my passport) and I bought Swiss souvenirs so it was Switzerland! Driving back we followed along the river and it was funny that on one side of the river was Germany and on the other side was Switzerland!

I am not sure why you would fish so close to the waterfalls. Fish can't even swim u the falls!

Today is also exactly 5 weeks since I arrived in Germany and I have 5 weeks to go so its halfway over!
